What We Do
We partner with drug manufacturers to develop new drug launch strategies; forecast, maintain, or improve Medicaid access; design financial rebate models; resolve clinical or reimbursement challenges; and navigate complex and changing government regulations and policies.
No matter where a drug or product may fall in the pre- or post-launch pipeline, we develop and deliver the best possible strategy that allows favorable Medicaid access while protecting profitability.
Medicaid Drug Launch Strategy
When developing a successful Medicaid access strategy, several things are necessary to understand: marketplace dynamics, competition and payer expectations, and the metrics used to make access decisions. Manufacturer miscalculations of these components are unfortunately common and can negatively impact Medicaid access.
We understand the nuts and bolts of Medicaid, as our leadership team of former Medicaid officials created and continuously improved many of the metrics and policies that are still in use in the Medicaid arena. Since every U.S. state Medicaid program and pharmacy benefit managers have their own unique complexities, it's critical to rely on and trust in an expert, hands-on resource to guide you through an essential strategy for Medicaid success. That's Artia Solutions.
We streamline our Medicaid drug launch strategy for both pharmacy AND medical benefit products, as well as non-drug products such as medical supplies and digital therapeutics. We dive into our action plan by accurately predicting the level of access before launch, defining coverage requirements in a therapeutic class, identifying key barriers to access before launch, calculating the level of supplemental rebating required, developing clinical messaging through meetings and presentations with key decision-makers, and much more.
Financial Modeling & Analysis
As a crucial part of a Medicaid drug launch strategy, manufacturers must also understand where their product fits in the Medicaid financial landscape in order to maintain a competitive position.
Our custom tools provide clients with an in-depth analytical view of their PDL category in order to decide whether or not to participate in a bid and what level of rebate is necessary to provide a competitive offer. Our analyses also assist our clients in developing competitive rebate structures in order to optimize Medicaid preferred drug list positioning.
Additional analytical support includes bid submission, competitor net cost forecasting, Medicaid price increase and unit rebate impact forecasting, Medicaid gross-to-net ROI revenue modeling, and Medicaid utilization and cost data reporting.
Product Monitoring & Account Management
As a part of our post-launch strategy, our clinical team of PharmDs maintains custom-built technology that tracks the status of our clients' products. This includes updates on product and/or class status, new PDLs, new P&T/DUR meeting information, market share data, clinical and bid vendors, and much more.
We can also provide post-launch account management through identifying engagement opportunities with Medicaid programs and prior authorization criteria support. It's critical for manufacturers to balance clinical market considerations with financial positioning in the Medicaid strategic planning process. We tailor our level of support depending on our clients' needs, whether that's working as an extension of their team or becoming our clients' market access team to cover all needs from beginning to end of the drug launch lifecycle.

Crossroads Conference
Crossroads: An Artia Solutions Conference is our biennial Medicaid conference in downtown Nashville. Our inaugural conference in 2018 was the first event of its kind for Medicaid stakeholders. In 2021, we brought together over 400 in-person and virtual attendees to explore issues impacting patient access to medications.
In 2023, we hosted 500+ attendees including Medicaid pharmacy administrators, Medicaid Managed Care representatives, drug manufacturers, healthcare providers, pharmacists, advocacy groups, patients, public officials, and other Medicaid stakeholders to gather for impactful discussion.
The term Crossroads symbolizes our intent: to bring together separate sectors to find common ground and innovative solutions for issues related to Medicaid.
Our goal is to ignite bold conversations about pharmaceutical trends, healthcare reform, new regulations, state concerns, and more.
We hope you will join us on August 25-27, 2025, in Nashville at the downtown JW Marriott.
